We would like to invite you to join the EFID course to learn, practise and discuss more about biographical methods of interviewing that are valuable for both intercultural adult and youth education. We would like to spark interest in you in the search for the lives, stories, history, roles models and hopes of our sisters, grandmothers, mothers and daughters in the Europe of the past, present and future…

The focus is on comparisons between countries on questions such as:

  • What do we mean by "emancipation"?
  • How do I conduct biographical interviews and how can I learn to understand recounted stories?
  • What do biographies and life stories have to do with the history, society and culture of our countries?

The course is aimed primarily at women who are involved in political education for young people and adults. Participatory, intercultural and dialogue- stimulationg learning methods are fundamental to the course. Real-life examples are used to practise biographical interviews techniques and different forms of remembering are introduced and exercised. The aim of the course is to learn how to use these techniques in intercultural youth and adult education. The language of the course is German, but working materials are available in German or English.
